アイルランド、「Ｂａａ１」に５段階格下げ－ムーディーズ
12月17日（ブルームバーグ）：米格付け会社ムーディーズ・インベスターズ・サービスは、アイルランドの信用格付けを５段階引き下げた。同国政府は国際社会からの緊急支援策を受けた。
同社が17日発表した資料によれば、アイルランドの格付けは「Ｂａａ１」となった。従来は「Ａａ２」だった。格付け見通しは「ネガティブ（弱含み）」。
別の格付け会社、フィッチ・レーティングスは９日にアイルランドの信用格付けを「ＢＢＢ＋」と、「Ａ＋」から３段階引き下げていた。
アイルランド議会は15日、欧州の各国政府と国際通貨基金（ＩＭＦ）から総額850億ユーロ（約９兆5000億円）の包括的救済策を受けることを決めた。国内銀行救済のコスト負担増大に苦しんだ同国政府は、国際社会への支援要請を余儀なくされていた。

12月17日（ブルームバーグ）：欧州中央銀行（ＥＣＢ）は、イングランド銀行（英中銀）と一時的なスワップ協定を締結したと発表した。
必要に応じて、アイルランド中銀にポンドを供給するのが狙い。
ＥＣＢの電子メールでの発表によると、合意ではイングランド銀がユーロと引き換えに最大100億ポンドをＥＣＢに供給することが可能。スワップ協定により、必要に応じてアイルランド中銀にポンドを供給する。同協定は2011年９月末に失効する。
